Machine Recovery & Migration at IBM EDGE

Cristie Software releases its cloud migration solution, CloneManager

Cristie Software has made the first release of CloneManager; our migration solution for Windows and Linux servers. CloneManager provides end users with the ability to migrate live machines to and from physical, virtual or cloud based systems with no need for similar hardware at both ends.

CloneManager uses a ‘drag and drop’ interface to provide a simple but powerful mechanism for real time migration to similar or dissimilar hardware.  The software is scalable from single machine migrations to large move groups which can be scheduled to migrate an entire data centre over a few days.  

 

The software integrates seamlessly with VMware vSphere™ and vCloud™ targets allowing virtual machines and vApps to be created on the fly. The software also optimises the partition layout, cpu and memory allocation and network mappings of the new VM based on the characteristics of the source machine. CloneManager also features CloneSync, a feature that allows a cloned machine to be periodically synced with its source machine.

Latest version of Bare Machine Recovery for Networker now available

As part of our continuing support of the NetWorker Client, Cristie Software’s disaster recovery solution for Networker has been updated to version 6.5 for Windows. Version 6.5 will now see full support for Windows 2012 and Windows 8 in conjunction with EMC NetWorker client version 8.0 SP1 (8.0.1).

Cristie Software makes an appearance at EMC World this year with an announcement about our new ABMR software.

Making our first appearance at EMC World, the Cristie team will be attending the conference this year from the 7^th of May and providing demonstrations of our latest disaster recovery solutions for EMC Avamar and Networker users. We will be networking with our EMC associates throughout the week, so keep an eye out for us if you would like to know more about how our Bare Machine Recovery software could improve your DR strategy.

Since EMC Homebase went end of life last year, our 3^rd party Bare Machine Recovery for Networker has proven to be a favoured replacement for Networker users. We are therefore happy to announce that from the 7^th May we now offer Bare Machine Recovery for EMC Avamar as well.

ABMR recovers EMC Avamar servers to an identical state from any Avamar backup in under 10 minutes. Our software consumes no additional storage and provides one common recovery infrastructure, with no separate backup software to install, schedule and administer. Currently we provide ABMR for Windows and Linux operating systems, with releases for Solaris and AIX to follow.

This week also sees the release of a new version of NBMR for Windows. NBMR 6.5 will provide peace of mind for Windows 8 (2012) users. It now works seamlessly with the latest version of Networker (8.0.1) to give you the benefit of fast and reliable recovery. Our NBMR product centralizes, automates, and accelerates data backup and recovery for EMC customers and continues to improve on its unique recovery capabilities.
